50 Amir ar-Ram reported that the Holy Prophet (saw) spoke about diseases and said: Verily (as for) a believer, when sickness befalls on him then the Almighty and Glorious relieves him therefrom, it becomes to him a penance for his sins which are past and an admonition for him for what will occur in the future. When the hypocrite falls ill and is afterwards relieved, he becomes like the camel whose master tied it up and then untied it, and it understands not why he tied and untied it. A man enquired: O Messenger of Allah, what are diseases? By Allah, I never fell sick. He replied: It is then of us, and you are not of us. – Abu Daud

51 Suahib bin Sinan reported that the Holy Prophet (saw) said: Excellent is the affair of the believer. His affair, all of it, is good for him; and that is not the case with any one except with the believer. If prosperity attends him, he is thankful (to Allah), and that is good for him; and if adversity befalls on him, he is patient and it is good for him. – Muslim

52 Abdullah bin Amr reported that the Holy Prophet (saw) said: A Muslim is he from whose tongue and hands the Muslims are safe, and a believer is he in whom mankind have an asylum for their lives and their properties. – Agreed

53 Abu Hurairah reported that the Messenger of Allah (saw) said: Disasters continue to fall upon a believing man (or woman) in his life, property and issue, till he meets Allah with no sin in him (after death). – Tirmizi (Approved, Correct)

54 Abu Hurairah reported that the Messenger of Allah (saw) said: A strong believer is better and dearer to Allah than a weak believer, but there is good in everyone. Hope for what will benefit you and seek help from Allah, and don’t be overpowered. And if anything befalls on you, don’t say: Had I done this, it would have been such and such: but say: “Allah has ordained (it), He has done what he wished,” lest you may open the actions of the devil. – Muslim

55 Abdullah bin Mas’ud reported that the Messenger of Allah (saw) said: There is no believing servant from whose eyes tears roll down though like the head of even a fly out of fear of Allah and then take away something bright from his face, but Allah will make the Fire unlawful for him. – Ibn Majah

56 Abu Hurairah reported that the Messenger of Allah (saw) said: The believer is more honourable to Allah than some of His angels. – Ibn Majah

57 Mak’hul reported that the Messenger of Allah (saw) said: The believers are humble, modest. Like the nose-stringed camel which, if led, walks and if made to halt over a rock, halts. – Tirmizi (Defective)

58 Safwan bin Solaim reported that the Messenger of Allah (saw) was questioned: Can the believer become a coward? ‘Yes’ replied he. It was said to him: Can the believer become miser? ‘No’ said he. He was questioned: Can the believer become a liar? ‘No’ said he. – Malek (Defective)

13w Abu Omamah reported that the Messenger of Allah (saw) said: The believer may have defects, the whole of them, except breach of trust and falsehood. – Ahmad, Baihaqi from Sa’ad bin Abi Waqqas
